Figure 3. The Hippo pathway in humans begins with MST1. Downstream of MST1 is LATS1, which interacts with YAP to reduce apoptosis. LATS1 is also linked to SAV1, which interacts with FlnA in response to mechanical force. FlnA might alter Piezo1 sensitivity and, consequently, mechanical input, thereby reducing apoptosis.
