Dr. Kenji Hayashida

Biography:
Dr. Hayashida is a chief and associate professor of division of plastic and reconstructive surgery of Shimane University Faculty of Medicine since June 1st, 2017. He is a very skillful plastic surgeon with Japan’s national board certificate in plastic surgery. After completion his training, he obtained basic and advanced skills and knowledge in microsurgery and basic research. Since 2011, Dr. Hayashida has become a recipient of nine research awards including three overseas research awards. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed original and review articles regarding wound healing, and given 40 presentations at various international meetings over the last 10 years.

Biography:
Rei Ogawa, M.D., Ph.D. is a faculty member at Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, Japan, where he serves as Dean of the Medical Faculty and as Professor and Chair of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery. He also directs the Mechanobiology and Mechanotherapy Laboratory at the institution.
Dr. Ogawa is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of both the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand (FRCST).
In Japan, he has served as a director of the Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (JSPRS), the Japan Society for Burn Injuries (JSBI), and the Japanese Society for Surgical Wound Care (JSSWC).
His areas of expertise include wound healing, burn treatment, scar management, and keloid therapy. He has served as President of the Global Scar Society (G-ScarS), the Asia-Pacific Society for Scar Medicine (APSSM), and the Japan Scar Workshop (JSW).
