Biography
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Raymund E. Horch is a renowned expert in plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. He currently serves as the Director of the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery at the University Hospital Erlangen, affiliated with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany. In addition, he is the Chair of the Surgical Department at the same institution. Prof. Horch's clinical expertise encompasses reconstructive microsurgery, aesthetic surgery, and complex tissue transplantation, particularly in oncological reconstruction. His research interests include tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. He has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and has edited several academic volumes. His contributions have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards.

Dr. Tim Leypold was born in 1994 and studied human medicine at Friedrich Schiller University Jena from 2013 to 2019. Since January 2020, he has been working as a resident physician in training to become a board-certified plastic and aesthetic surgeon at the Department of Plastic Surgery, Hand Surgery–Burn Center at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen.

Horch) in Erlangen, Germany. He studied medicine at the Hannover Medical School and began his resident training in Erlangen in 2004. He is a board-certified plastic and aesthetic surgeon and hand surgeon. His research fields are innovative imaging modalities in plastic and reconstructive surgery and musculoskeletal tissue engineering as well as tumor models.
