As the global elderly population continues to grow, cardiovascular aging and related diseases pose a significant burden on individuals and society. Exercise is widely acknowledged as a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle, offering manifold benefits for the cardiovascular system. Mounting evidence has shown that derangements in fuel and energy metabolism contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases, and the promotion of metabolic health plays a central role in underlying exercise-afforded benefits.
